Mumbai, False Hope, and Building My Japanese App 🌆📱

🚉 Life Between Rabale and Ghansoli

Every day I pass from Rabale station to Ghansoli station. Mumbai feels like a city built on trust that tomorrow will exist. Some come here to make money 💰, while others just come here to survive another day.

I see people coming here only for one-time food, and if they manage to live the next day, then they hustle again. Less than 1% actually become rich here. For the rest, life is just opening their eyes the next morning.

Mumbai isn’t for beginners. The tracks are full of stories of people who lost hope 🚂💔. Sometimes, this city feels like it survives on false promises.

📱 My New Japanese App (Built with Flutter!)

I’m actually building a Japanese learning app in Flutter 🐦. Initially, it’s just for myself because Duolingo didn’t work for me (I didn’t learn shit there 😅). All the existing options were websites, so I thought:

👉 Why not build a proper app for it?

I’m trying to modularize it, so tomorrow if I want to learn another language (say Korean 🇰🇷 or Spanish 🇪🇸), I can reuse the same structure. Don’t judge my design skills tho—I suck at it 😂.

🈳 How I Plan to Learn Japanese

I started off with Duolingo but, nah, didn’t work. So I asked my juniors who are good with Japanese. The plan now:

  1. Build the Japanese app 📱
  2. Then slowly start grammar practice 📖
  3. Document everything as I go ✍️

Let’s see if this works or not 🤞.

✈️ Salesforce Capstone Project

As part of my capstone project, we’re building a solution to optimize Air India operations. It’s a full-on project with three apps:

First time the whole team worked together—which was actually fun. I don’t know how to put this nicely on GitHub, but eh, we’ll figure it out (or maybe just say fuck it 😎).

🌙 Mumbai Nights: Marine Drive & Sleepless Stations

One of my HRs told us: “Mumbai at night is beautiful, go check it out.” So we did. 🌌

Romantic Mumbai night? Not really. More like “Welcome to Survival Mumbai” 😅.

🙏 Ganpati, Temples, and Rains

Another time, me and my twin went to Siddhivinayak Temple in Dadar. Paid 100 rupees to get into the fast lane (scam-but-not-a-scam 😂). Then had to wait 30–40 minutes for some VIPs to pass 🤦.

It rained heavily, so we ditched Dadar Chowpatty. At least this time it wasn’t a disaster.

🕉️ Lalbaugcha Ganpati Madness

The wildest experience was Lalbaugcha Raja. Went with friends, reached the line at 12:20 am on Sunday. By 3 pm we were dead tired. By 5:30 am, we just gave up.

We came back thinking: “Why are all Mumbai trips so cursed?” 😂. Still, after the chaos, we slept like babies. Then reality hit—we had our Capstone presentation on Monday (Sept 1st) 🫠.

👯‍♀️ Best Friends and Distance

So recently my BSF started seeing a guy. Honestly, good for her 👍. As a friend, I asked some normal questions—just so if something happens, at least I have context and can help. But then she started giving me too much detail 🥲. So I was like: “NO DETAIL.”

That was some weeks back. Then instinct kicked in—like, if she’s seeing someone, maybe I should back off. You know, bro code vibes 🫡. I gave her space because any guy would think weird about his girl talking too much with male friends.

Later, I casually asked her for an update. She said the guy told her he “needed time.” Then she turned the question on me: “What do you suggest?”

Bro, what do I even say there? 🤐 If I give an opinion, it’ll look like I’m interfering. If I say nothing, she thinks I don’t care. So I just said “Idk”. Because honestly, why would I come between them?

She got angry 😤, and since then we’ve not been talking much. I don’t really care though—I feel like I have to respect boundaries and honour another man’s woman 🤷.

🎭 Closing Thoughts

Mumbai is a city of dreams and delusions. At the same time, I’m trying to chase my own dreams with a Japanese app, a Salesforce project, and also figuring out complicated friendship dynamics.

Some trips here sucked, some were okay, and some conversations got messy, but all gave me stories worth writing about ✍️😌.

✨ Thanks for reading this chaotic blog. If Mumbai teaches me anything, it’s this: Even if today sucks, maybe tomorrow will be better. 🙃
